Liquid Crystal is an exceptional group of musicians put together based on the specific requirements of the event, audience and/or venue. We're not an agency that sends random musicians out for an event, nor are we a set band of always the same players. Liquid Crystal is comprised of a core group of main musicians and a mutable roster of experienced performers. Our players have performed all over the world, at every type of event and venue, and with some of the biggest names in music. We are excited to bring our talent, expertise and enthusiasm to your special event! Our team leader, professional vocalist Crystal Clulee, performed with one of Boston's most sought after wedding bands for 5 years before moving to California. She knows what makes a wedding a spectacular event, and is committed to bringing that experience to you.

Dave Maciel

Dave Maciel, Guitar, Bass, Lead and Background Vocals

Dave Maciel began playing piano at 7 years old, and by age 9 he was already an accomplished concert pianist.  By age 11, he was a drummer for a cover band, and by the time he reached 13, Dave had already recorded two original rock albums with different bands. During his high school years, Dave studied composition and theory, writing music for orchestral performance. He toured with three different bands playing bass guitar for one, drums for the second, and lead guitar for the third. In between touring and local shows, Dave also began his career as a session musician, being featured in many different styles of music as a studio performer. By the time he got to college, Dave already had quite a catalogue of original music and was playing in three more bands. Dave currently holds two residencies in Manhattan Beach: at a sports bar named Shark’s Cove and at Shade Hotel. When he isn’t performing, Dave writes and records for many artists and enjoys learning to play new instruments. Dave is a consummate professional with great versatility and presence.
